From Jesus Christ, the Apple Tree—

In the Bleak Midwinter plea:

“What can I give, poor as I am?”

I give my voice, so joyfully.

 

“Lully, lullay, lully, lullay…”

Herod rages and still shall slay.

But in a stall, with sheep and lambs,

We sing in bliss, Bethlehem’s way.
